HID comes with a ballast(like a transformer) for making high voltage, you can get it from your local mitsu dealer(expensive) or Ebay.

I believe the HID projectors are also different than the halogen projectors. They project different beam patterns. So you'd have to change that as well if your headlights to light the road well.

NHTSA is cracking down heavily on aftermarket HID makers. Most of thier kits aren't designed for specific models and have been know to blind oncoming traffic. If you're gonna go with HID, you're better off with a Mitsu part.

I think they run around $1300 per light !!! And require an entirely different wiring harness. May not be practical to replicate Mitsu factory set-up but I'd love to be proven wrong and hear from someone who has done so.

if it's not TOO exspensive, then I would go with the Mitsu factory HID's because they are amazingly good headlights in my opinion. They probably are super exspensive but it may be worth the money to get them since you know it's a good part and it will last etc.

Damn, for that price you might as well have gotten the sun, sound, and leather package.

it's cheaper to have the dealer put it on when you buy the car, since it's going to be split into your financing. $1000 over 5 year is only like $16 a month + interest.

You might as well buy the JDM MR headlights, those come with HIDs and can be had for under $700 ...

But on the jdm one's, isn't the beam pattern different, so your light would be shinning on the left side rather than the right?

that's easy to adjust. All you need is a screw driver.
