Do you believe the evo is some kind of teeter totter? You should put two or three spare tires in your trunk so your evo can achieve perfect 50/50 weight distribution. That would be awesome for your logic.

agree 100%, i would rather loose a race by a inch and be able to pull over and change my flat due to being driven everyday then when by an inch and not be able to change a flat.

Yes, I used 2 thin strips of steel going across the hole. I screwed them in with self tapping screws.

Yes, take out your spare. If you bought you car new, you got roadside assistance and you can get a tow for free.

I took to spare and tools out of mine. I weighed it all and its about 35 lbs. I got plenty of people I can call to get my spare from my garage to help me but if I do go on a road trip I will have it all with me.

Yeah, I also took my spare out to make up for some of the weight I added with my system.

JL 10W7 w/ JL Powerwedge box - 94-97lbs.
500/1 - 5-7lbs.
CAP - 1-2lbs.
Wire - 2-10lbs.

around 110lbs. total
minus 37lbs. for taking out spare & jack/tools

total 73lbs.

I just had a blowout the other day........boy it would have sucked if I had taken my tire out, or installed a huge stereo system in the trunk.....

Keep the spare, go on a diet! Ever since I bought my EVO I either can't afford to eat or don't have the time cause I'm in my EVO, so I've been losing weight which = a lighter car. I really feel it in the butt dyno too, but maybe that's because I have less fat in my a$$.

Yes because I race everyone and anyone everytime I go to work or school so I need the extra weight savings to help me win.
