Well that is not really relevant because lots of amp manufacturers claim crazy wattages that they will never reach. I have seen some "1000 watt" amps that wont even push 200 continuous watts. But if you are familiar with JL's mono block 500/1 amp then that is what I am running....500 W RMS @ 1.5 ohm-4 ohm (11V-14.5V).

There is an evom member that I got a Mini Battery tray from and then got the battery off ebay. I have about $145 in the whole set up. I believe the thread was titles "Guaging interest for mini battery" and the battery used is a Oddesy 680 with auto terminals. Exact same setup as Buschur for a fraction of the price!

I got the mini bat kit from Buschur and is now (getting cold) starting to have charging problem. I don't even run stock radio that often. Last few weeks I have to use my portable booster battery.

I've got one and love it. Never had any starting problems. I think it looks better in the engine bay, frees up room for a catch can and allows for the use of the BR upper I/C pipe. Plus it weighs so much less.

I did a bunch of research on this for my S4 and ran a Genesis G16EP, cost about $90 shipped to my door and weighs about 12.5 pounds. On the S4 it was a weight savings of close to 30 pounds, or roughly that of a CF hood.

Pros:

Extremely-low internal resistance
Fast current flow
Easy starting
Vibration proof
Maintenance free
Will not develop a memory
Dry cell, so no liquid or gel (no acid to leak out)
Corrosion resistant terminals
Recharges quickly
Excellent storage life

Cons:

Life expectancy goes down significantly with heat
Must keep properly charged

The Oddesy is an outstanding battery, and for its size puts out respectable CCA. Now running the stereo with the car off for a long period of time would be a bad idea. There are basically two ratings when you look at a battery, Cold Cranking Amps and AH. The Odyssey 680 is 680CCA. I don't know what the Odyssey AH is, but I'm sure its less than the stock battery. This is one of those size really does matter situations. I believe the stock battery is 500CCA.

I got the Odyssey 680MJ.. It has a metal jacket that will prolong the life through extreme conditions. I haven't had any trouble with mine yet.. stock radio.

Bad Idea, I read in a couple of mags that you would end up adding more weight in cabling to reach the trunk than u would save with smaller battery. Kinda self defeating

Odyssey battery lasted around 2.5 years for me before dying .. pretty good compared to a standard SLA battery .. Got my replacement from www.portablepower.com for $80 shipped .. not a bad price .. I used back the standard battery tray, cut a slot at one end, and you can fit the battery lengthwise onto the tray .. drill a hole near the batt, and use back the battery hook (diy tiedown $3) viola! all done for less than $100 think it's in the how to sections ..

Odyssey specs .. www.odysseybatteries.com
I tested the batt at 345CA 12.7V
and it lasted around 25mins with radio on car not running

I dont have one, but i intend on getting one. No I'm not going to be in the cold like u guys but from what i heard they are almost the same as a regular battery, just smaller. Plus there right u really only use the battery when starting the alternator dose most of the work, that is unless u got a mega sound system.
