It could be right in some point of circumstances that the turbo Neon running 40 Psi aka. Stage 3 mopar upgrade can beat the stock evo, however be realistic...you not buying a vehicle only for the speed on the 1/4 miles...we think about the re-sale value, look, name, reputations among world's professional races, and tons tons more.....let's compare all these aspects between these two car...if you mature enought to think, you will understand....

PS: Don't get me wrong, I admit that the SRT-4 is pretty fast on the 'straight line', but in the real world bud., you will find curves, turns, un-event pavments, etc. both in the race track or even on your local way you cruising around, therefore, we will not only need for speed, but handling, braking, stability, etc. etc.

 

wow, woke up after 6 hours and this hasnt stopped. i see groovytang is NEON BASHING already.
i hope that someday you meet an srt4 someday on the streets/track just like my friend who owned a 350z. at first, he couldnt believe an evo is faster than his car. i've proven him wrong time and time again-from a roll and from a dig.
when i got the srt4- he cant believe it also, tried it again= OWNAGE .
i know the 350z looks better than both cars, but performancewise? no comparison, IMHO.

 

Don't comment on the SRT-4 in curves or handling unless you've driven it. You'll be just like everyone else and just make assumptions because its a neon.

I am working at the Brampton Automall (Dodge-Honda-Ford-Mitsubishi-Mazda) I drive SRT4 everyday, more than 10 test drive a day....its pretty good handling in its class (however, we are fooling ourselves if we compare it with with the beast AWD Evo who cost basically twice as much) Honestly, dont get me wrong bud. SRT 4 is an awesome car, presently the fastest car for under C$28000

 

Both are great cars. The Evo cost more for a reason. Still, you can't go wrong with a SRT-4.

 

I have yet to see anybody here say that an SRT-4 is a better car than an Evo...yet here we are 12 pages later arguing about what we're really arguing about. LOL.

I already got a Neon. Send em my way. I'll let them listen to my turbo. They haven't heard one of those before. Psssssshhhhhhh Psshhhhhhhhhhhh.

I'm going to have to say something is fishy in that video. The first run to me looks like what we call a "ricer fly-by". Dude wasn't even trying, there's no way a "lightly modded" SRT would walk even a stock EVO by THAT much.

And for the rest of it, hrmmm, seems fishy to me. I don't think a SRT could pull an EVO like that being "lightly modded".

Either that EVO is stock and dude can't drive, and/or that SRT isn't just "lightly modded".

I wasn't there, but that looks like BS to me.
