uhh... I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. Simply because I don't think those changes are financially feasible. You have enough people complaining about the price of the MR as it is.

Go drive any 05 evo and you will know it feels just like the 2.5L Subaru and has a higher top end. Why would you want an unproven 2.5L If i were to get a Subaru i'd rather have their twin scroll spec C 2L engine. Now that's a monster

Just get a viper or z06 if you want out of the box performance + bling. That's what i'd do in a few years, i've been driving awd since the 90's when most people were modifying hondas doubting the power of awd+turbo. (seems as though a lot of older honda owners are on here & the subaru forums judging from the 'previous owned car threads' )It just might be that i'm looking for something new and more exciting. Can't go wrong with a RWD vehicle

yeh, can't go wrong with a RWD. Seems like there is only one RWD worth getting, which is GTO at the evo price range. That or get something used.

I've owned a honda before and evo is something that I wanted my honda to become but it was going to take a lot of money and effort.

BMW 330 has a marvelous engine 231hp, Why did they change? now 3.2 260hp
Audi A4 went from 3.0 to a 3.2 255hp. Why did they change?
M5 with 400hp is a monster. Why did they change? now a V10 500Hp
Viper had a marvelous low end torque engine with 400hp. Why did they change? now 500Hp 500lbsft
Volvo never thought about producing a sport car now it thinks. Volvo S60R, Sema show Volvo XC90 with 650hp. Why did they change?
Ferrari 360 Modena is a marvelous car 400hp. Why did they change? now 490hp F430
Corvette American Musclecar had a marvelous LS1 engine. Most of American loves this engine and tons of possible mods is available. Why did they change? now a C6 400Hp, better interior looks and not so much increase in price.
Porsche Carrera S now with 350Hp went 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. Car and Driver magazine. Why did they change?

Why Mitsubishi can't change anything?

Ok if you think that the Evo's engine is the best engine in the world... keep with it forever...

you mean, what's wrong with a little boost gague?

Volvo had sports cars before. They just didn't know it was a spots car 850

4g63's been evolving. It's gotten better but not completely revamped.

I guess mitsubishi did make a great engine, since they didn't need to change it for 10 years.

Why fix it, if it's not broken?

I want nissan to bring back their old 300zx TT engine back and toyota with their supra engine back. They changed it and now it's crap.

if you wanted something more like the STI why didnt' you get the damn sti??.. i mean **** a 2.5 litre for the 4g63... ummm excuse me but i belive that engine is 10000x more capable then the usdm sti engine... .. just trade your car in and get an sti and stop us with your useless babble..

the evo can be better. thats why people mod them.. you wont see a much more powering from that engine coming here.. cuase of all the restrictions we have... but trust me once you mod that car ( and from what everyone else says ).. you will get massive gains... you really need to do more indepth research

Mitsubishi does have a lot of changes in the future.

Example the New Eclipse will have a 3.8 mivec engine producing 260 ponies.

Plus the 2007 Evo 9 will have some great awsome changes but they are still going to use the 2.0 bullet proof 4g63, with minor improvements. This engine design is by far the most powerful 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine produced. You don't change a good thing you only make it better, (faster stronger).

But I do understand what your saying about some of the limitations. But thats why Mitsu is testing the market with the MR edition, the RS, and in Europe th FQ400. If they were you mass produce your ideal Evo and only sell 400.??!! Well, that would suck. Even I would not pay more than 40,000 for a Mitsubishi. (ok my the FQ400).

MR is a good example. FQ340 and FQ400 another. The only problem is the price....
It would be good to have a 350hp EVO with a good clutch and a better low end torque... from 30K to 35K. I'm an Evo owner and like my car's mid/high power but I don't hate the Subaru STI, just because it is not a Mitsubishi car.
The topic objective: More power more torque, better clutch, same price.
