stock 0-60 of evo VII

I'm seeing some internal testing reports from mitsubishi that say the GSR has a 0-60 of 5.4 seconds. Is that at all accurate, because thats what subaru claims for the US wrx...

Re: stock 0-60 of evo VII

that is way too slow.... an s2000 can do that with no torque.

Remember that there are many factors with this. You don't even know how hard the person launched the car.

I think more importantly you don't know how they chose times. It could be a mean or average of several launches. Find more sources' times. If I remember correctly though the Evo 7 should be around or just under 5 seconds.

Also keep in mind that the GSR is the heaviest trim. I doubt that accounts for all that added time though.

Those numbers are direct from Mits... and I bet my sources are better than yours. The 8 is far lighter and almost as much HP (and possibly more torque) than a JDM RS-II.

First off, why are we looking at 0-60?? Its all about the 1/4 mile (a true test of a cars acceleration.)

When sport compact car mag tested their project WRX against a euro Evo VII the evo was close through 0-60 but had a faster 1/4 mile time and much, mcuh faster trap speed.

Besides its not a dragster its better suited to the hairpins and turns of a track.

Also, on top of being lighter with essentially the same hp..the VIII is also more aerodynamic which should help the US VIII be just as quick (1/4 mile) or slightly quicker than a jdm VII. Also, the clutch is supposed to be improved over the VII..we'll see

I don't have any idea who is right or not, but that would be awesome if the EVO VIII is faster than the JDM Evo VII.

SCC got 13.4 for the ¼ even with a crappy clutch in the Evo VII.

I think the M3 does 0-60 in 4.8 so the EVO surely will outsprint a pig like the M3 off the line (not a 1 mile race though)

I hope this is all true!!!!

Not sure on this but, I believe an Evo VII RS does 0-60 in 4.4 sec. where as an Evo VII GSR does it in around 5.0 sec. The factors for the difference being weight and gearing.

Well, I WILL say that has said themselves...at several different times that the US Evo would do 0-60 in under 5.0 sec.
RedEvo6, Why don't you think the US Evo will be as quick? Please explain your reasoning. Last time I checked lighter weight (including rotational..with the lighter Enkeis), better clutch, better aerodynamics, and about the same (although a tad less) hp all point to a quicker car..correct? We'll just have to wait and see.

Are you refering to the U.S. or the JDM spec?
