wether the story was true or not this is what i believe...

whats the point of trading in an evo8 when u still have payments owned on it or not for an mr? in the next few years they will have a brand spanking new model of the evo and then ur probably going to want that model...i say save the $ and wait for the next few yrs when the evo will be bigger & badder.

That will ALWAYS be the case. There will always be bigger and badder around the corner. No sense in always waiting. Just give in. If you can afford it, do it.

If i had the money I would have gotten the MR, but I already knew I couldnt afford it so I went ahead and grabbed the 04 gsr. A dealer letting you test drive two MR-s, and race your gs-r. Sounds like a lie... but then again I do like my evo 8, but I wouldn't doubt that you prob thought it was slow, maybe because the Mr hasn't been broken in yet, and there is no big power diff between the gs-r and the mr, though I heard the suspension is nice 8- ) Other than that, for 7 extra grand, unless I had money to throw away like dumb rich people, I woulda got the MR. 7 extra grand for an extra gear, when you rarely use the sixth gear in race, and also the aluminum roof, um the MR is the heaviest model out of all 05 evo's
8-) , thats prob why you thought it was slow, but anyway, I wouldn't have mind getting an mr. Stop arguing on this thread people, we all love our mitsubishi lancers, and just leave it at that, its not like stupid ricers are talking crap at each other, we all own nice cars, well most of us 8- )

Using a 6 speed tranny is not to drag race or making the car fast on straight line. It, however gives the driver more selections on gears, more flexibility and responsive actions in all kinds of road. It provides more enjoyment to driver. If you test drive one for only a while, you barely will notice the benefit of it. Take it for a week or so, you will find it useful, very useful.

I went to the Ferrari dealership last night and was going to trade in my Evo for a 360 Modena. The salesman try to convince me it was faster than my car so I said to him if he could out drag me I'll by it on the spot. He agreed and we went out to a drag strip right behind the dealership, I totally spanked him, 3 cars length. I ended up walking away from the deal, the 360 is just not worth the money consider how slow it was going straight, with some mod my car can be just like the 360.

Here is my take:

The MR is a total package, When I first saw the price and what you get I thought it was over priced but after I test drove one (salesman didn't offer to race me) I understood why it was priced that way. Everything is more refine than my 8. The smoother gearbox, its less notchy and better geared so taking off from first gear is a lot easier, it doesn't bog as easy (especially with the AC on). Then there is the clutch, the pressure is a lot consistent, it doesn't get stiffer as the pedal does to the floor. The engagement point is also not as vague. Then there are less vibrations and noises from the engine. My 8 when I turn the AC on I can feel a lot of vibration and can see the steering wheel vibrate a bit but on the MR it was smooth. I think it's a combination of the gearbox, clutch, and better (less rich at low rpm) ECU tuning. Then there is the power delivery, it’s a lot better up top after 55k rpm, and it doesn’t taper like my 8. Finally there is the ride, the suspension is a lot less jarring than my 8. It’s very conform to the road but still has the same stability in high G force sweeping corner. Oh, and the cool ACD gadgetry on the MR was fun to play with.

Overall I think it's worth the money but I don't have that kind of money to spend otherwise I'll be driving one right now. Go test drive one if you already have an evo, you’ll feel the difference (not drag racing obviously).

Hey, buddy I hate to correct you but.... with sunroof & leather package GSR is the heaviest evo out of all three.... almost 40lbs heavier than MR!!! most of the weight is roof area too... meaning gsr has much higher center of gravity than MR

and I know some people just don't want to believe so I post link here:

yea, thats if u get the sun and sound, usually half the people don't get it, plus the MR edition doesn't even come with one because of the aluminum roof, so you can't compare it that way. Both with no sun and sound, stock, the mr is about 30 pounds heavier 8- ) The sun and sound sucks anyway, the factory sunroof messes up and the infinity subwoofers are horrible.

LOL Hanzo.....I did a similiar thing...I actually went to a shifter kart shop in my neighborhood and the guy told me that his karts are faster and better in handling than my Evo. I took the challenge and he was right!!!! I was speechless...so I traded in me Evo for an 125cc shifter kart.....but now winter is coming so I need to find some winter tires, a roof, and a heater.

whats funny to me is that everyone has posted five pages about the coment that idiot made and he hasnt even replied at all to everyone calling his story bs. dont give the guy the time of day, he apparantly doesnt realize what the difference between an MR and regular evo is.
