Question On Evo Insurance

how much do you guys think insurance woudl be on the evo. Cause i'm thinking bout trading in my oz lancer and getting the evo... i have 6 grand to put down on it, of course most of it would go on the oz to kill the payments and all or whatever. Think it be possible to have the payment down to like 350ish a month for 7 years??? please let me know, i want a evo!!!!!!!!!! my mom even said i should have waited for it...

Re: Question On Evo

It all depends on your situation for the insurance. I am 33years, I don't wreck anything and I have not gotten any tickets (nor has my wife). I am expecting the insurance to be about $500 per year (S2000 is about the same)....

Payments....at your local credit union you can probably get 6.99% for 84 months....$30k + tax (6%) less $6k = $389/mo....

If that is every dime you have then this is probably not a smart move.....but..ya only live once, so live it up

Call you insurance guy and have him give you a quote on a different car with mad power (G35 coupe, 350Z, 3KGT VR-4, Etc...) That should give you at least some idea of what you can expect.

$30k X 1.06 - $10,000 = 21,800 financed.....

6.99% @ 84 months = 329
5.99% @ 60 Months = 432.

Hope that helps.

I have awesome insurance.... i have full coverage, 5 cars (S2000, V8 914, Jeep, beater integra and a Millenia) and the total on all 5 is $1800 for myself and my wife.

I live in a low crime area and have no accidents.

If they're both paid for and can deal with a possibly harsh (doubtful at least since Americans love their mushy cars) daily driver, sure. If not, you'd have to eat so much of that cash you'd pee green.

Look in a blue book. All depends on Mileage and condition. Different amounts of mileage can change the value of a car several K either direction and will give you a reasonable expectation of trade-in value.

As for insurance, when I was 21, I bought my new Prelude type SH ($27,000) back in '99, no accidents and no tickets and still my insurance was (at the time) $345/mo. You pretty much get raped if yer a guy under 25...just the way it is. Now I'm 25, no accidents or tickets, and it's more like $195/mo. I'm expecting to pay marginally more for the Evo. If you're still a teen or early 20's, probably gonna pay up the *** for insurance, though where you live is also a large factor and granted, I live right in Downtown Seattle WA so rates are definitely higher for me than for someone in a more rural setting.

Selling a new car now is financial suicide. The demand for a used Lancer I'm sure is lower than the Marianas Trench and the financing plans by Mitsu are going to have people looking in their lots rather than a used lot. I doubt you'll 3/4 of what you paid/are paying.

I think it will depend heavily where you live, seeing as how my insurance is going to be tiny compared to most on here, simply because I live in a very rural area.

I wondered if insurance will be more b/c of the car being AWD... a friend of mine wanted to get a WRX and had the $$ to get it and everything, however he went to see what his insurance would be on it and it was like $200 more a month that he paid at current. He said they told him all the AWD parts are very expensive to replace should something happen, so they are more expensive to insure. Can anyone confirm or refute this?
