how can u tell if a used evo has been flashed

how can u tell if a used evo has been flashed

just bought a used 03 w 10000 mi aem srs, michelin alpins, dope cf shift knob, and it rips. iam a former z32 enthusiast.

Have the dealer check it. Sometimes they can tell and sometimes not. If you have a way to log timing and AF ratios you could also make a good assumption.

DON"T, DON"T go to the dealer, they will void your warranty, if they find out you where flashed.

Dealers can not tell if its flashed on the 03 and 04 cars

One way to tell would be to log the OBDII data and see what rpm the rev limiter activates at as most reflashers use a higher rev limit. Don't rerl on your tach - they are not that accurate. Also logging the ignition timing can tell you if you know what you are looking for.

05 cars its easy to tell

Just push in the clutch and rev to check for the lower rev limit (5k?)

The dealers can't tell? What ever happened to the guy who went to the dealer with your flash and they detected it?
