15k service at LB Mitsu
15k service at LB Mitsu
I have just over 20k miles on my 03 Evo VIII. I took it in about two months ago to Long Beach Mitsubishi for the 15k service (I had about 17k miles then). The 15k service is supposed to change the air filter and replace the driveline fluids, as well as the normal service items like oil, etc.
Now I am noticing really notchy shifting, chatter in the transmission, and a loud humming sound when downshifting from 4-3 or from 3-2. I finally got my head out of my *** and realized that the dealer did not chnage any of the driveline fluids.
I just called these people and they claim that the driveline fluids are not part of the 15k mile service, or any service. That makes absolutely no since to me!!! It is clearly stated in the service manual that this is to be done during the 15k service. Is this a standard practice among dealerships?
I will be changing my own fluids in about a day or two when my Redline oils arrive. Could there be any significant damage done being at 20k+ miles, without having this done at 15k miles?...spirited daily driver btw.
Thanks
