Installing a Pioneer headunit - will I need to rewire the speakers?

Whats up fellas?

I have the 315watt INFINITI basslink system in my Evo.

I was wondering, if I want to install my Pioneer headunit, will I have to get all the speakers rewired?

The amp is under my seat, and everything is connected to that.

So will I have to take off the driver seat, and get it all rewired?

Sorry if the question seems kinda stupid (or not asked correctly), i'm not too familiar with how stereo's are wired, and my friend offered to install my headunit, but said I will need to take off the drivers seat, which kind of didn't seem right to me.

He works at CIRCUIT CITY and BEST BUY as an audio installer, but he's the hardheaded type who beleive's he can do anything and everything, when in fact he can't, and ends up w/his foot in his mouth quite often.

So anyways, any help?

first off, you dont need to rewire each speaker. second, I thought the basslink had a built in amp and if so, how does it fit under the seat?

Okay.... I used to do stereo installs. I think your question is worded wrong. But I think I may have decifered it. You have a stock head unit with the bass cube for the trunk and aftermarket speakers with an amp.... Am I right? If I am... When you install the radio you will need 2 sets of RCA's one that will come off the sub woofer output for the bass cube and one to come off the regular amp output. Thats all you should have to run that isn't already there. Does that make sense to you, if not PM me and tell me your exact setup..... and we can go from there...

Yes you are right, sorry I didn't word it right heh.

so 2 sets of RCA's one for the sub, one for the reg. amp output.

Also, would the removal of my drivers seat be necessary? I'd rather not take it out...

If your amp for the speakers in under it, yes, just for ease of installing the RCA's. But its not a big deal, 4 bolts and its out.... Thats just based on the location, I don't know how it is installed exactly...
