I am replacing the front lip on the MR and noticed a set of numbers besides the part number. This is a graphite gray MR. On the inside of the lip there is a stamped EVO8 11/1000. What are the chances that this is a representation of the number MR imported to USDM for 2005?

Or am I over analyzing and this number is the same on all front lips?

I am interested in anyone's response that has an MR and has taken off the lip for whatever reason.

The GVR4's I had were numbered and I wonder why the MR's aren't badged like the VR4 Galants used to be.

 

I have an MR also, but I am currently out of town with my beemer. When I get back I wil be sure to check it out ASAP! Ive always been wondering the same thing about the VIN numbers. Ive heard that within the VIN, it shows which vehicle we have out of the 1000.

The last 7 digits show which vehicle number from which plant (mine is U013256, U=Mizushima #13256). But it's not specific to a trim level, just the number of cars from that plant. And the VIN doesn't differentiate between EVO trim levels, so I don't think the number of MR's is coded in the VIN. I do want to go check my front bumper cover now, though. Where exactly did you find it?

EDIT: Actually we're both right. It differentiates between the RS and Evo, not MR and regular trim.

My bumper is off of my MR too. My MR is white and it says the same thing 11/1000. Its on the drivers side of the bumper bottom.


P.S. So I guess they are all the same.

Yeah, I followed the link. I just can't read Saw the Evo and the MR were both the same (H8) and assumed it was the same for the RS. I also have this weird thing about remembering my VIN #'s, and both my '03 and '05 MR were H8.

 

Well, so much for that idea. I don't think it was that much of a longshot. Good to know for sure though!
