Latest word from my dealer: they still haven't seen the allocations in the computer, but are expecting them today or tomorrow.

I'm first in line. Sounds like we're not getting our choice of options, I hope I get lucky on my allocation.

If the first few months allocations really are fixed (as in the dealer can't change color or options) we might have to create an Evo trade section here - people swap cars and deposits . I'm looking for a yellow - high spoiler - no roof. So if I get allocated anything different, anyone want to trade?

 

That's exactally what i could of picked. If you come across a white without roof let me know.

I called my dealer, and he was about to start calling people on his list of deposits... He's been allocated 5 evos, Im # 6 on the list!!!!!

He's gonaa get in touch with the deposit folk and tell them what the allocated colors and options are, and see if any of them will pass. He has 3 with sunroof, 2 w/o, and they ALL have the big wing. I wan silver with sunroof and big wing.. lest hope the other 5 pass that one up.

 

he says he'll get more in march, so maybe I'll have to be patient..

btw the ones w/o sunroofs were yellow and black, and the other 3 were silver red and something else.

<whew!> I just talked with my dealer, and he said that they are getting three in. One of them is exactly what I want, and since the number one position holder doesn't like yellow, it's mine! Woot!

 

Had the option to get that one, but passed and am getting an Apex Silver w/o a roof instead.

HAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!!!

I got called back from the dealer, apparently the other 5 in front of me passed up the silver with the sunroof!!! its got my name on it!!!

In additon, after shopping around insurance companies, I found some rates that are still a bit high, but nowhere near as bad as I had been quoted before, and more manageable. I reccomedn those of you in the same 25&under boat, check out progressive..
It looks like this will actually happen.. Heall Yeah!!

Just called the dealer--Rally Red with no sunroof and big wing is all mine. They are getting one more with no roof in white and 2 with roofs--not sure what colors.

He also said he expects them in 3-4 weeks!!!!!! He said once the allocations come in it moves pretty fast.

Man...this is killing me... I am first, and the dealer knows they have 2 coming (at first), but they did not have the allocated versions known when I last talked to them.

I have a feeling some dealers are not nearly as excited about the Evo as some of the buyers (ME)

 

Well, it's one more car that they have to learn how to sell (not that some of them learn about the car's they're selling anyway.)

Also, it's kinda like the WRX. When that came out, every 16-20 year old kid came in and drooled over them, asked for test drives, asked what they'd give in trade for a 83 Ford Escort, asked for a test drive, kicked the tires, asked for a test drive.... you get the point. I think a lot of dealers already know that the Evo's going to have a BIG reputation amongst young buyers, and they're dreading it.
