Question Suggestion on alarm

I'm looking for a car alarm for my EVO. I'm looking the one with remote start for manual transmission. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

NOPE.....You can not get remote start for EVO due to manual transmission. There is nothing to depress the clutch in

1: do a search and you will find your answer...and YES you CAN do it but its not suggested....when you have the shop install it...just have them hook up the remote start...and make sure it works when the clutch is pressed in...then pull the clutch sensor off...and it works...done!....

Both the top of the line clifford 2 way and Viper 2 way are excellent alarms in my opinion.

search my previous posts... I did a whole write up on this subject matter... another guy had the same dillema... he had a viper 791xv installed... things to consider... relay to bypass clutch safety switch, and fabricating neutral safety switch, transponder bypass....

alternative: compustar 2wss alarm... not as common, more expensive, and read other members having issues with it.

I have a remote start, built in turbo timer and alarm in one convenient package... So never say never... and as long as you take all the necessary precautions, you can't say that particular someone is not the brightest...

With a will, there is a way... Just do your homework...

I have the newest from Clifford and I love this puppy. Its so nice and also pretty impressive. In my WRX my lady used to have to sit and wait with me while it warmed up, now I just have to double tap my remote no matter where we are and by the time we get to the car its ready to roll. And since you are leaving your car in neutral with the e-brake on for the turbotimer there really isnt anything to worry about

I've got the Compustar 2WSS and it works great. Do a search on it if you want to know how it works (its made to work on manual trans. so you don't need to add neutral, clutch, brake switches). As far as price they are spendy. Compustar quoted me $650 installed, my local dealer ended up installing it for about $450.

Not bad... you got a good deal... The average DEI installer would charge about $500 for either 2 way pager alarm i.e 791XV or RSX 3.5 installed...
