My EVO Vs. 03 modded Cobra.....

Last night on a closed track me and a heavily modded 2003 Cobra went head to head after he got done anileating all my friends(1 LS1 w/110shot and drag radials, and another w/150shot).....his mods where upgraded ported supercharger, exhaust, pully, cam, and some other he ran a 11.6 last year.....and can you guess the outcome? It was from a stop............. A little background info...See where I live its V8 country......So after he got done warming his tires I decided Id give them a little taste so I did a few AWD burn outs myself.....All I heard from the crowd and his buddies was Oh sh*t and Damn.....When we took off I immediatly put about 2 cars on him, and then he pulled back up dead even with me until I hit fourth after that see ya.........

NOTE ALL THESES PARTS ARE FROM BUSCHURRACING
Everything has been professionaly installed by www.buschurracing.com and tunned by David Buschur[B]
Its a silver "03" body has 23,000 miles and engine has 2,000.

Led neons 7 diff. colors (for all the fast & furious lovers)

Fully built 800whp short block, crowller rods, wesco pistons, custom vavle springs and retainers set, stage 3 cylynder head (ported and polished)

HKS 264 intake cam

HKS 272 exhaust cam

Exedy Twin disc clutch 600lbs/ft hoding capacity

EVO8 Alcohol and water injection for more boost on pump gas

1g BOV, Buschur upper and lower intercooler piping

3" turbo back exhaust and magnaflow muffler ( so you can talk while driving) its a strainght pipe no cat

Buschurracing mass air flow pipe....and air filter

Mini battery kit (less weight)

There EVO deluxe front mount

AEM EMS w/wide band, O2 sensor and egt sensor, 5 bar map sensor, tunned for 91oct, 93oct, 110oct

660cc injectors

Walbaro 255lph fuel pump

Eibach 1" lowering springs

1 gauge,..... steering column pod with autometer 30psi boost gauge

Brand new SSautochrome tubular exhust manifold with 2000 degree satin ceramic coating on it done by www.performancecoatings.com

It has a in-cab manual Hallmans boost controller

A custom installed show ready stereo that can be taken out if needed...

All 4 doors and trunk have been Dynomatted with ultra lite Dyno mat material for stereo performance and less road noise (and it helps)

OK...how much did you pay in preformance mods vs how much did he pay?

I know it does not take a whole crapload of $$ to get a Cobra into the 11s...whereas an EVO on the other hand....

well it takes $700 to get the cobra in the 11s... full exhaust and chip..
the evo it takes $1200-3k...intake, bc, exhaust, cams, some type of tuning

cheapest you can do this is:
MBC.. $40
Buschur Exhaust $700
HKS Cams $475
Tuning.... DynoFlash..$300

Total $1515
Good driver not included....

at least the evo can do much more than just driving straight

Yeah, too bad my '03 Cobra stickered at $36k when I got it, and I negotiated my 2nd Evo down to $28k. Making that power, he's also going to be replacing a very crappy stock IRS setup soon as well. If he got the ported supercharger, it cost a lot more than $700 to get him there. My Borla Stinger exhaust on my Cobra cost maybe $650.00 so I'm not sure where Rollaway gets his figures. I didn't run 11's with those mods either, the stock tires aren't the greatest so there's an expense there as well.
