Some good points were raised about sub-freezing temperatures and the contraction of plastic and other interior components. I've yet to be in any car-- Camaros, WRX's, even the LS430 from Lexus, the vanguard for built quality and isolation, that didn't creak in 20 degree weather or colder. A lot of the noises you might be hearing also come from areas of ice on and under your car which may be thawing and cracking. Don't forget the most important fact of all-- less sound deadening on an Evo than 99.9% of autos. So your camero may have made that noise-- but the 400-500 lbs of extra metal, frame and such most likely disguised it.

Yeah...my Evo would creak and crackle in cold weather...glad I moved to Florida!
