Thievery?
Assuming the Evo has the same door lock mechanisms and key ignition as our Lancer...well...don't park them on the street anyway. My locksmith friend could get into my car in under 30 seconds if you give him a wedge and an over and under tool. Ignition should be about another 45-60 depending upon how good the thief.
And that's assuming they don't just pop the hood and ubolt the turbo or simply remove the wheels or something like quick-grabbing a couple parts. Protect your investment is my advice.
tryandcatchme: Generally insurance companies aren't too thrilled about giving away their money and they take time to pay claims. It's inconvenient from a totally objective point of view. I'm asuming you've never had your car broken into or anything stolen from it. Someone took a freakin' $100 cassette deck from my GA and I'll be damned if I didn't feel violated.

It is definitely a pain in the *** to collect from an insurance company. remember you need a police report for them to even pay attention to you. but your premiums WILL go up, and you will pay a deductible that will vary on your coverage, but will suck nonetheless.
the 1st mod I buy for the car will be a 2 way pager alarm, with a 2 stage shock sensor, possibly a 2 stage microwave sensor. I've even considered installing a small wireless camera somewhere inside the car that would be activated by the alarm, with the receiver hooked up to my apt tv. (I dont live in the best of areas).

Why would you care if your car got stolen, or had parts stolen out of it? Why do you think theres a thing called Auto Insurance? Think about it this way, there taking your used parts, and your getting new parts. Simple as that... Well for the acception the vehicle might have a black mark on its CarFax report....

Honestly, this sounds a lot like the rationalization of a car thief....not that I'm necesssarially painting you that color tryandcatchme....
There's more to having your car stolen or vandalized than "letting the insurance deal with it."
You have to fight to be reimbursed for every $ over the insurances estimate (which was 1/4 the actual cost of the repair in my case.)
You have to spend hours of your time on the phone dealing with the red tape of the insurance co and of the police.
You have to worry about the Ins company pointing the finger of liability at you as the owner....and not covering your incident.
You have to worry about your rates spiking by as much as 100%.
You have to worry about how you will get to work when you have no car.
You have to worry about who will pay for your insurance paid car rental after the policy's ceiling is met. (which was 1 month into the 2.5 month repair in my case.) In my case I had to eat the addtl $700 in car rentals.
You have to worry about the resellability of the car when you get it back.
You have to worry about whether the car will be as perfect as it was before the incident.
You will always worry that the thieves will return.....
SC~ who's glad to hear that the parts aren't very compatible with the rest of Mitsu's line.
