Finaly found the answer to a 2 month old question I've been having. What does 13:1 translate to lock to lock? STi 3.0 lock to lock? I can see it now, driver of the STi trying to negotiate a corner at the local mall with hands frantically flailing as if crossed up in a turn at 100mph at a race track. That should make for the rearview mirror to fly off a few times.
Ya, is 3.0 accurate?

Most cars, it's 4+... the Evo it's only 2.1.
The standard JDM STi is 15:1, and there is an optional 13.0:1 ratio available for it, which is standard for the Spec C. The 15:1 ratio is still rather quick without feeling overly nervous on the road, more ideal for a day-to-day car. 13:1 is quick and does feel rather nervous, but is great at the track.

So is it usually better to have more or less complete turns of the wheel?
No one really answered what the 15:1 ratio stands for and what it means... im just curious cuz it seems like a big topic of discussion here.

what this means is that for one complete revolution of the steering wheel...the wheels/tires move 24°...
360°/ x = 15 ... x = 24
what you really need to be concerned about is that the greater the steering ratio, the more revolutions of the steering wheel you have to turn to get the car to turn...
