I'm gonna buy an A37 A00 (silver, high wing, no sunroof) in May.

I am still hoping there will be ACD on this car.

If, in a year, they decide to release an Evo with full power specs, ACD, AYC and 6-speed, and the reviews of that car prove to be good, I will either trade up then, or else I'll buy an ECU and the front and center transfer cases from the new evo and give mine ACD. Since I only really care about ACD in the short term and possibly the 6 speed, thats all I need. Maybe I'll swap trannies down the line too. If the full spec evo is 35k+, I can almost install those parts for the difference between my runt evo and the real one.

Either way, I'll be happy

 

Probably wait one more year. Alot of new cars coming out in 03

I will wait until I owe less on my car than it's worth to sell, then sell it privately (don't feel like taking all the mods off). More than likely this wont be until Fall/Winter of 2004, so by that time I'll check out what's available.

Every time I've thought about getting a new car I've said to myself, "Self, I really want a VW GTI VR6... we should look at them." then I say back, "Yea, we should... that has been my favorite car for awhile now!" Then what happens is I get sidetracked by some other car and end up getting something else (first it was an S-10, then a cavalier <-- hey, it was free, ok?). A week or two after, I kick myself b/c I should have stuck with what I wanted all along, but instead I settled.

Well, if they havent changed the GTI by 2004 (for the worse that is) then thats what's on my plate. I know its not as fast as an EVO, but its also about $6000 cheaper... and $6000 worth of mods into a VW GTI VR6 IMO will put it up there as fast (if not faster) as the EVO (straight line of course, twisties is another story - although if the GOLF R34 ever come stateside.... ).

I'm getting white, MASSIVE big wing, no moonroof.

"Cops love red cars" -- whether it's red, yellow pink or black, cops will notice the car doing 90-100 passing traffic using the whole freeway, red's just easier to spot, but they'll see my white car just as clearly if I'm out assaulting the freeway !!! And I will !! Muhahaha

 

Gonna wait until I pay my Subie off... and my big screen TV... and my student loan... and my credit cards...

Already ordered my Rally Red with the big *** wing. I've always wished that they had the RS here so I can get it cheap so I'm happy with the U.S. model. I can't fathom paying over $35K for a mitsu or a subaru. That's just me.

 

with as much hype you would think everyone on here would be loving this car. It seems like a great car especially for the price (assuming it is under $30k like they said). I think some people are blowing alittle smoke. They currently drive a "Lancer" and talk like they will get a EVO but cannot really afford to or something.?

I am not waiting. I will be getting the first one my dealer has. I think my choices are silver with no sunroof or black with sunroof..both big wing.

 

Things will highly depend on whether that button is for ACD or not! Also, driving impressions will count the most. Potential classing of the car in the SCCA stock category as well.

Either way, I will wait to see how things are first and then decide what to do!
