Well, that is a true as well. On the other hand, I am just about to get married and house is the next big one. Since I already have a sport car that is quite advanced compare to most anything out there right now, I don't have to get a new car right away. But, I will be more than happy just to see those beauties out there!!

?? The 03 wrx is worst than the 02.

Reason they purposely slow down the clutch engagement to prevent damage to the trans. " Band Aid FIX"! The result of that is a worn out cluch and slugish launch. Also probably need differnt 03 aftermarket piggy backs for mods to prevent timing pull.

--'02 had P01443
-- cold weather start-up knocking sound due to cam-belt tensioner
--loose power steering hoses resulting in loss of powersteering fluid (some cars)

pulled timing was a problem for both '02 and '03 I believe. UTEC helped that out...

Clutch from what I hear isn't much of a problem...if I remember correctly, Trey Cobb was still able to pull 1.8 60' times on a stock '03.

Silver, big wing, not sure about roof
probably get it late spring, early summer, for sure after the snow melts. my only hesitation would be waiting for the followup year that might (or might not) have more performance... I really want the damn 6 speed! but that probably isn't enough to prevent me from getting the evo. I have wanted one since I started reading Top Gear when I was studying in England in 1996 and learned about the Evo, WRX, Skyline, Sylvia, Elise, TVRs and all other sweet sports cars that are finally making their way to the US (most of them anyway is some form or another)

Waiting is not always good, especially with Mitsubishi. Think about progression of the cars.

90 Eclipse GSX - Starting point...hell of a car
91-92.5 - Lose air/oil cooler.
93-94 - Lose 6 bolt crank , gain 4 bolt rear
95-99 - get good MAS, get good manifold, lose good engine (crankwalk).
00-01 Eclipse GT - Go to V6. Lose all mod potential and handling (I owned one so don't say I dont know what I'm talking about).
02+ Eclipse GTS - Gain 10 hp, la de frickin da.

Point of story is that those old 90 eclipses are still probably the best out there, and all the parts that were improved on the newer ones could be easily swapped.
I'll get mine, before all the customer satisfaction surveys come back with "my steering wheel turns too quick", "this car feels like im inside a babies rattle when driving on the PA turnpike", "Why did I void my warranty when I took the car to Jiffy lube for an oil change", and everything else that you and I enjoy, but others will ***** about.

You could also add a beta versions of the 2G DSM that where built in the middle of the 94! They had a vented and bigger rear brakes and better ECU code.

I still think that the worst part for the 2Gs is switch form 14B to T25! Crank walk was present on the earlier models too.

To me it's no longer the must have-at all costs-no test drive needed-car it once was. I had deposists down but I'll wait a year ..local and worldwide press reviews will be factors, as well as the New STi.

Plus the 350z is tempting me away... watching the aftermarket cloesly. Two different types of cars but oh well.. the bottom line for me is speed around a track and FUN. Ive always dreamed of a twin turbo six.

good points T.I.U.S. .... as far as I know, the earlier 1G eclipses were always the best to get... with the 2G not so hot with c/w...the non-4G63 i'm not even gonna comment on...

however, the evo is something that i am gonna wait and see...i have learned alot of buying 1st allocation cars that i have never seen as well as test drove, and i am positive that i will not dive into those waters again...i'll just try and be positive that the future models will get better...ACD,6speed,etc...in my opinion, subaru only got better (STi)...but then again, these are the two big rivalries.

cheers
