90% of my driving is in the city with traffic so do you think its ok to change it at every 3000 or 2500 miles?

 

That's really a bit overkill...

It COULD go 5k miles easily... But, for peace of mind people change it early.

3500 miles should be good and just check it occasionally also since the evo likes to eat up a lot of oil

3750 is severe maint schedule , but i drive in city traffic and need more self insurance that the fluids in my car are good

If you can afford it, do it at 3k. Honestly I don't think it will make that much of a difference.

you could go upto 4000 miles under harsh conditions with synthetic oils.

 

Synthetics tend to get dark a lot quicker than conventional oils. Most engines I tear apart that ran synthetic have exhibited this, but the wear, varnish, sludge in the engine is noticeably reduced.

3700 mile oil changes are fine for city driving. The oil is suppose to be dark, that's normal. This is synthetic oil people, you can run it up to 5k miles if you want, it won't harm your car. Changing the oil at 2500 or 3000 is just a waste.

 

smells like BS to me. There is a reason Mobil 1 or other synthetics cost so much and are recommended in some many high performance applications. Oil change every 3000 or so and you're perfectly safe.
