Totalty agree with him. there will always be bigger and better ones, u just have to pick which is right for u. It seems to me u dont want to wait, but u want the 9. it really boils down to want u really want. I wanted the MR and i waited, i didn't settle. U should do the same. If u want the 9, then wait for it, but if u dont really care for it then go with 8 and save some cash.

this is true, but the X is going to come out in 2+ years. And im sure im not going to wait that long, my car is going to be dead by then. (1995 integra ls with 163k miles ). And im sure the IX is coming to america, just not the same version we see in those videos. There was that site, www.channel4.com, and they quoted, "Mitsubishi is hoping that the Evo IX will revive its flagging fortunes in the USA in particular, taking on the popular Subaru Impreza WRX" so it seems very likely they would bring the IX here. so i think i'll wait a tad bit until more info on the IX comes out, which it prob will. thanks for your help

there is no reason for you to wait for the IX. Like people have said there isnt even a exact date on when it is going to come out. Dont take your chances on waiting, buy one when you can and enjoy it!

The IX might not come with everything that everyone is saying it will have. Look at the MR we got here. In the begining everyone said how we were getting everything, when it got here they didn't even have the MR interior or extra power. If you might have problems getting it later get it now.

If nobody has a clue on when the 9'll be out, that would indicate to me that it will be a HELL of a long time. MUCH longer than 8 months. Japan will get it at least 1 model year before us and so will europe and europe just got the FQ-400. So i would go with the 8 if i were you.

(UNLESS it comes out in spring, which i really doubt). (if i can get the evo now, i will be able to maintain it) and i dont want to miss the opportunity to get the evo. Cuz 8 months is a LONG time to wait. but i dunno . any help would be nice
I'm sorta in the same position. I had my mind made up and my heart set on an '05 RS...then I saw the IX pictures, the videos, and read the rumors in SCC of the MIVEC and a probable/possible power increase to 310hp-315hp. Unlike you though, my current car runs fine and it's a modded '04 SRT-4 so it's not like I'm driving around a boring car. That being said, I put it up for sale. Once it sells I'll make my decision. If it takes a few months and the Evo IX models have hit the USDM so be it...that's the route I'll go. If it sellls sooner than later I'll go with an Evo VIII. In either case I'd say it's a "win-win" situation. No such thing as a bad Evo. It's a bit of a dilemna but in the end you'll be very happy with either decision I'm sure. Good luck.

Actually the value of the EVOs are holding very well, hint the reason why I'm driving an Audi and not an EVO. Your so called real 9 second Mustang probably isn't even worth $20,000

I think you do not have to make a choice right this second, I believe you should take some time to think things through. This does not mean you have to wait 8 months, but atleast wait till some more reliable hard facts come out about the EVO IX. Somebody made a good point about the EVO MR, and I too was fooled into believing it would be more than it turned out to be. While I do believe the EVO IX will be an all around better than the EVO VIII sold in the USA, I would wait for more information to substantate mine's and other's hunches.

Strap on a set and buy an 05!

I think people lose more from indecision than from bad decision. As far as I am concerned, the Evo 9 will be out in 2007. Mitsu just upgraded the EVO 8 so I think it needs two model years before the next big thing comes in. I feel next year Japan and Europe will get the 9, then it will be watered down and brought here.
