Evo VII Grill with Evo VIII hood.
I have been searching for a front bumper option for awhile. My RR front lip is cracked so I need to replace the unit. I was going to try and pic up the giall front end, but after looking at the JDM evo VII grill I realized it looks pretty damn good... plus its an OEM part. I do not currently run the front crash bar anyway. Im wondering if this piece will look right with the evo VII hood (specifically with the line that intersects the triangle) I know this hood works out ok with the Gialla front end but I though i should ask first. This bumper is only $500, looks much different then stock, and you wont loose drivability from being to low.

eh.. I like those two the best of the aftermarket hoods, but they are not OEM and the quality is not as good as the original. Plus you can buy the evo VII front completely painted for 600. The gialla front doesnt warrant me spending over 500 dollars more for that piece..
ic where you're coming from, in any case, the evo7 front will look like crap wtih teh evo 8 hood, the sharp pointy on the hood is gonna do wonders for ugly. personally i like one big mouth, i hate those nostril slit things in all the other bumpers.
can the EVO VII's front end fit on the EVO VIII's front end, the front bumper (OEM and Aftermarket). I really wanted to put on a C-West EVO VII kit on my EVO VIII when i get it.
I know of VII owners who buy the VIII bumper and bonnet to do a conversion so I guess the reverse is also possible.
But if you want to keep the hood, third party bumpers from Gialla, DAMD, CWEST and even Varis do give the VII look.
Quality if you buy an original bumper is great. You only need to worry about quality if you are buying a "replica" and even then, I have seen some replica ones which look pretty good.
FWIW, I have a new Varis MR bumper on order. It looks a bit like the IX/Gialla bumper.

That bumper is sick... i was actually looking for that one but i wasnt sure what brand it was. This is the other piece i really like. How much did this one cost you?
The evo VIIs grill should go on with no problem.. it just wont fit over the crash bar i believe.. but i have already taken it off anyway as it weighs alot. I guess because this hood doesnt have real sharp angles it might look a little off with an VIII hood.. but all the other VII style fronts look fine with the pointed hood, just liek the varis one. I need some more opinions on this.

I think the insurance would be an issue.. but then again, how likely is it that the guy is is looking at the car is going to know all about the design of the evo etc.. Its not like there are tons of them on the street anyway. Most likely anyone looking at the crash would have never even dealt with another evo wreck.
Your stating that someone would look at your car bafore your accident that could happen? I am more of a beliver that if you got into an accident then you would have problems with insurance because the crash beam was removed.
I will assure you that no body shop would install it legally knowing it would endanger you if you got in an accident.

I believe you can install it yourself in about 15 minutes.. plus it comes prepainted, not need for a body shop. I seem to think that most people are completley incompetent and would not even think to look at something like a missing crash bar from a car. Most people either dont care, are just not paying attention, or are uneducated. This is the world we live in.
