Actually you dont have to do all that. there's a product that is pretty good to use that'll minimize the scratch make it smaller. My evo has a 1 inch scratch on the right hand mirror and my friend used it on the area and it become like around 1cm and it's not easy to notice anymore... will let you know the name of the product later

 

That's highway robbery, I paid around $7 for mine. I guess your dealership really is a $tealership.

 

Just an update... its called "scratch remover" used it and the result is pretty good
