Fq 400

is it possible to bring the FQ 400 into the united states?? I've always wanted to bring a imported car over to the united states, like a honda from japan, or the skyline, but it has to be right hand driven....so is it possible???

Thumbs up

the british pound to US dollar conversion makes the car around $87k THEN it will cost anywhere from another $15-25k to ship it over here THEN it will sit in customs about 3 months & THEN you won't be able to legalize for US street use unless you own a shop, work for a shop or buy a 2nd car for crash testing.

trust me, i checked into trying to get a 1981 Lancer Turbo EX2000 with the 4G62B (for nostalgic purposes) & those were the obstacles i ran into. cars overseas are rather cheap. i've seen evo 1's going for as low as 11,999 GBP ($26,600 US).

FQ 400 is about the price of a kidney. But the answer to your question is yes. Making it legal would be a sh*t load of money.

It might be better to get a reputable modifier in the US make a partnership with Rally Art UK and build them here to order state side, that'll be a lot cheaper and you could get them to service it here in the normal way, that is if Mitsu USA honors the partnership much like they have in UK. In fact if all the FQ MR series models were offered then propective owners could pick and choice according to their taste/budget!

when importing anything there is no such thing as reasonable. they figure if you want to be "different" you must have the funds to back it up. you might try Motorex but i think they mainly do Skylines. if they won't import it they might know someone who will.

i want this nissan stagea rs4 (rb25det powered) & can't get it.

you would have much less trouble purschasing a graphite grey MR here and modding it with LESS money to have a FASTER, BETTER, car.
