Protect your intercooler???

Ok guys, I have had my evo for bout a month now and I have 2 dings in my intercooler already. The only thing that stock mesh will stop is bolders what are ya'll usin to protect yours?

Stronger mesh.... if it's too strong then chances are it might cut off air flow to the FMIC. 304 stainless steel wire mesh, you can fabricate it you're self but it won't be cheap.

check the how-to section. there's a guy that did a nice write up with a good screen to use. It's basicaly like the screen you would use on a screen door. it's pretty fine, but the brand he uses is durable enough to resist a tear from a dog scratching it. just go do a little search in there. It's got very detail instructions.

Your intercooler love cold air, don't block it with fine mesh grill.

I have nothing covering mine. If I get dings they are so small that I can fx them with a toothpick. Just slightly bent fins is all I get.

It's going to happen, there is nothing you can do about it. Screening it will just block air flow.
