you put a towel or cloth down to protect the engine bay from water leaking in through the hood vent and then forgot it was there? It caught fire!

Sounds like "rain protection" leading to engine bay fire to me.

Right? Wrong?

Sorry about your car. That really sucks!

Took the splash guard off and water came up from underneath the car and shorted something out, causing electrical fire that spread to other stuff?
