have him go to the dmv and get a print out of his record... it's all about how many points, if any, he has.... only the points matter

 

well, friend lives in a different state then where got the ticket.

So I don't think the ticket points apply to the different state.

 

Ok, my friend is 24, so that maybe something to be concerned.

 

you say it was a profiling ticket??? how is this so??? there was 6 cars including motorcycles going the same speed. one cop cannot stop all 6. he probably figures he has no chance to catch the motorcycle if he takes off (which he did) so he popped a car instead. sorry to say but your friend was speeding and got caught he was just the unlucky one out of the 6. big bad cop picking on someone who is going 105 on the freeway. in IL street racing is $1000 bond and your car gets towed. id say get a lawyer.

I've never gotten that ticket before but, I know some people that have. The penalty varies from state to state and case to case. It could be just a fine with traffic school or a suspended license and probation from what I've heard. Lawyers for these type of things are usually relatively cheap and if there's any chance he could get me out of it or get a reduced penalty to me thats money well spent. As far as saying there was a group of cars doing it, that doesn't matter. He's the one that got caught. Hell if the cop didn't make note of it I'd leave that detail out all together and hope for it to be reduced to some type of speeding ticket instead of street racing or reckless endangerment.
