Drove an EVOII tonight
Well I am visiting the caribbean for the holidays to see my family and here in Antigua one of my buddys bought an EVO II about 2 months ago. Anyway to make a long story short this damn thing moves!!! You guys ordering the new Evo are in for the time of your lives!!!!
The feeling of being thrown back into your Recaros as you floor the accelerator. My buddy said he had to learn not to hit the accelerator until he had already pulled out when passing cars as he would fly right up under the car being passed. He used to drive a Turbo starlet. (A toyota that ran a best time of 14.9 regularly in the low 15's) There is no comparison.
The roads here are a little wet tonight and we spun wheels in first and shifting to second. He said the clutch is going too(the car has under 30 thousand miles.) so you can only imagine what it will be like when he gets a new clutch.
It was 260hp rated but he did some exhaust work. He is running stock 10psi boost and plans to raise it to 14 when he gets some other things in order.
I got a little test drive but I was already too scared to drive it after what he showed me. The clutch was really stiff, nothing like my OZ and also it's right hand drive and I haven't driven one in years. Anyway, I have never felt anything like it. I took it up to 4th gear cruised down to 3rd and then floored it back up. I can't believe the amount of pull it has in those gears. I don't think I passed 70 at anytime but damn what a nice ride. I'll have to buy some film and take some pictures before I get back. all I have to say is you guys are some lucky BAS....S who are getting the EVO.
Happy Holidays
Peace

His was only rated at 260hp and they say the one coming to the US is 271hp. Not big but good. BTW Antigua is where some of my family is from on my father side, gives me more reason to visit. Do they rent Evos over there at all?

u r 1 lucky guy!
