^^^its coming for sure. just do a search.
i would wait for the IX. more power, i dont think it'll be cheaper than the MR though as all the trims will have mr features as standard.
i am thinking of getting the ix or the new sti when they come out-will trade the srt

sorry, but i love my leather seats, they are so much more comfortable than the fabric, although not as grippy, they are much better suited for everyday, however, the japan spec fabric recaro's are a different story...... i might have gotten the MR instead, if it would have had them...... i just love black interiors.

Wait Wait WAIT!!!

The XI Evo will be out 2006 some time in October. If you ask me thats still a long ways away. Plus No one realy know what will be included on the XI. To be honest I think the best Choice is to go with the MR.

One thing for sure, the EVO 9 is much better looking. Looks like the older Evo's instead of the dreadful Pontiac Sunbird look of the 8. Yeah, and I guess they won't build an Evo 9 MR edition, right? Ok sure.

The limited run of the MR's will have ZERO impact on resale value vs an Evo 9, IMO. Mainly because it's not really a "classic" car and the 9 is not a radical change from the 8, but will surely be an improvement in several areas. In general, the most developed version of a specific body style will have the best resale, since people get attached to the body, not the specific generation. The Evo 6.5 will always keep its value well because some people feel that the CP9A was the pinnacle of Evo styling and performance. Similarly, there will be CT9A devotees who will utterly reject the Evo X. But those people would rather have an Evo 9 than an MR, as Evo owners naturally gravitate towards the latest and greatest technology (otherwise they would be driving camaros).

personally I would wait, but that's only becuase I already have an Evo! If your really that worried about resale, your in the wrong market. It all comes down to whether or not you have to have an evo now or can wait and see what the US model 9 has.

Personaly, I would take ANY Evolution! I like them all. The MR is Nice! So is the IX. But my question is, What is the difference between the US Spec MR vs. the UK (Euro Spec) FQ-330? As I see it the MR is just a Trim Package on a standard VIII. Can someone explain it to me, since I have yet to see a MR in person. If the MR is just a trim package, then I guess I would have to say the IX is better if the new MVEC adds more performance.

Of course this is all the opinion of a 23 year old that drives a Lancer O-Z because I can't afford an Evo. So when the new IX comes out I will start shopping for a used Evo VIII.

If you want most bang for the buck then buy a used 03 or new - unsold 04. MR has some good stuff but nothing that justifies the cost IMO. They didn't bump the power enough for my taste for a 5,000 mark up. The IX will have the MR stuff carried over with different bumpers. If Mitsu survives and I don't outgrow this style of car - The X is a new engine, new interior.

The newer version should always be the better version, hence the name, so I'd say the IX will be even better than the MR. My question would be at what cost? All of these updates don't come cheap, ya know.

An EVO is an EVO! Any EVO is going to put a smile on your face when you drive it. If you keep waiting for the best, you'll never get one. Just get the best model you can afford and you should be happy. Newer and better models will keep coming out.
