Hey mate

I think those JDM Evo VII headlights of yours came off an RS, as HID was standard across the Evo VII GSRs. The RS headlamps which were the one you pictured, were never intended to house the HID assemblies.

Either way all of these vendor's sites need to change what they state about them. All claim that they are a direct plug and play headlight for your Evo 8.

Escoson - Have you ever removed your headlight?? If you have or have not is there a way you can look under the hood behind your headlights and see the number of wires coming from your main harness to the headlights? I am curious if I can buy the Evo 7 headlight harness from Mitsu or not. If I can it would allow me to create harnesses instead of destroying harnesses.

Again I appreciate all of your help.

Agreed.

Still curious why these vendors are stating what the are on these headlights. (plug n play with your Evo 8)

BakZamGai - Do you know if the RS Evo 8 has the same connector has yours for the headlights?? 4 pins instead of 8?

Ok here is the update from Mitsu on the harness wiring idea.

The colors should work.

The issue is I can't just purchase the headlight assembly's wiring harness. I have to buy the WHOLE DANG LIGHT @ $1200!!!!

So as of now my options are to cut the main engine harness. Which is only like $850. OR to find another busted headlight and purchase that wiring harness. If anyone has the ability to get me one or has one . . . PLEASE LET ME KNOW and I am willing to purchase NOW!!!

Thanks again for all the help

Not many of Evo 8 RS here, so can't really pop one open to take a look. Will attempt to find out and will revert to you if I find anything definite.

Call the vender where you bought the lights at and tell them you want a set of JDM evo GSR housings. Not RS housings what it looks like you got now.

Unfortunately that is not an option. He claimed he will not be taking them back. As of now it seems I am stuck with them. Rolled the dice and crapped out.

Sell them to a RS owner.
