concealed carry, with EVO Seats

ok.. this is an odd question.

For a few years now I have been carrying a concealed wepon on my side (YES I have a permit to carry!)

problem. I carry a Glock 23 with an Inside the waitsband holster, I am a relitive skinny guy, so in the past in all cars that i drive and ride in for a decent amount of time, puts a little grove in the right side of the seat where the butt of the gun rubs into the seat. I carry about about the 4:30 position.

now most of the seats have been not nearly as tight as the Evo seats seem to be (I have not been in an evo so I am buying bline here)

anyone have a comfort issue, am I going to be taking the thing out of the holster and putting it beteween the hump and the seat like I do on long trips.

any insite

sorry.. odd question..

thanks

i'm one for agreed on packing.

you could always make a custom holster on the left secret pull out compartment.

i always thought it would be cool if i owned a gun to get a gun holder built on the other side of the center consol.. like where the passangers calf would be... seeing how i'm right handed it would be instant access.... but thats my opininon...

hopefully if you read this you can visually imagine what i'm talking about

ever think of having a custom holster molded and mounted on the center console near the shifter or inside the arm rest? imo, i think that would be your best bet.

Whenever the weather permits I use my holster that goes under my right armpit with the extra mag under the other. When it's too hot to wear a jacket I use a back holster, but I have never been comfortable with one. When I'm driving and I can't use the under-armpit holster, I just put the gun in the glove box unless I am driving slowly through downtown or something, then I keep it on my passenger seat unless I have a passenger. I haven't found a perfect solution either.

no most likely the glock wouldnt fit in the left "secret compartment " by ur knee to the left and below the steering colum ur best bet would probably to be inside ur arm rest possably in a holster in there if u screw tru the side of it or you probably even could make a holster for the side between the driver seat and the center consol.

hope that helps

my bro in law lives in PA has his concealed licens is in the military and also carries a .45 with laser so he doesnt miss

put a custom mount under the seat its still pretty easy to get to and the seats are high enough to reach while sitting. Otherwise its gonna be pushed into your kidney area and rub the seat as you say. In my altima i used to leave it in the glove box while driving as it was lockable, but not on the evo.

Ok, back to the question at hand.....

Don’t know what state ur in, but I'm assuming you have to have the weapon on u at all times (like most state laws require). If so, the option of using fanny pack while your in the car would work, I know, I’m sorry, I know how gay they are but it would work, just put the gun in your holster before you get out.

In one of my vehicles, I have a pouch sewn into the front of the seat (under your knees area) to hold a weapon, whether its a gun or mace, very easy to reach and never gets in the way.

Opinions

Obviously everyone has there own opinion on gun control and this is a good place to post it but 90% of you self-contradict yourselves. What sensible person wouldn't agree that since the general public carries guns the cops have to. Anyways if your being attacked wouldnt youd rather tell your kids yeah i beat the $h!t out of the guy or yeah i shot him. 99/100 kids will leave home if you shot him and get off with self defense. If your shot at or get shot, its obviously your time to die, better hope u believe in God. bottom line is that carrying a gun is one of the biggest signs of insecurity, as a physcologist i would know. Get a custom mount for a custom car though, thats a new car show amenity. Good stuff guys.

Hang it from your rear view mirror like a pair of dice.

I've thought about the best mount location myself, but unfortunately I live in Wisconsin no CC. If we did have it I'd put my order in for a S&W 686 .357 tomorrow, but alas no such luck. My Springfield 1911 .45 is a blast at the range, figuratively and literally.

Out of curiosity why a Glock? I've never been all that impressed other than the price. The grip feels uncomfortable (not a big fan of double stacks), and they seem uninspiring (kind of like an appliance or something). If reliability is the goal then you can't go wrong with a wheelgun. Got a dud, or a bad round? No prob, keep pulling the trigger.

To answer the original question. I'd just stick it under the drivers seat in a regular holster. I'd also get rid of the enormous plastic glock but thats just me. By the way, there has been arguments for decades that the purpose of the right to carry arms is so that the state can protect itself from abuse from the federal government. IMO, that was the original reason why the protection was placed in the constitution. IMO also, I believe that the threat from the federal government is significantly less than it was two hundred years ago. However, I do agree that most people who legally carry are not the ones who cause the majority of the crime. I do think it is ignorant to say that the teachers should be armed to prevent people like the kids in the school shootings from shooting up the school. How about making it more difficult for them to get weapons including have the parents be responsible for properly locking and unloading the weapons.

the guy was asking a simple question.

where to put his gun.

why is this so difficult for all of you people to understand?

damn, hippies. lol

You could always put it on the drivers tray on the door. Just have to come up with some clever way to make sure your gun doesn't move around too much.

No. This site is not a good place to air your opinions on gun control. The question asked by the user was asking for opinions on seat wear when concealing a weapon and whether there is a better place to store a weapon in the Evo. If you don't have any intelligent comments on the question at hand, do not post. No one cares if you (you being whoever is reading this) are for or against gun control.
