trigeek37- it is from a local credit union, your best bet is to get in with a credit union, they offer lower rates usually than most banks.

That's a very low interest loan!! A full percentage under the low home equity lines of credit..... How did you manage that?

well...my empirica score is 760, and if you were to finance through mitsu they automaticly take anything really above 700 for their best rate and are are approved, but again that is going through mitsu which I did not. Just used that as a reference to how emperica is rated. Not sure what scale beacon is on...but 760.....thats what it was back in november when I bought my wifes outlander. I did even worry about it on the evo...I know I'd get financed.

That's very cool. I just made one huge down payment and traded in the rest so my payments are $0 Still, I don't know how they score those things... I should have perfect credit but I don't get those high scores, I wonder why? I've 0 payments except the usual utilities and mortgage, yet my score although very good is not that high....

see that is the problem...you pay everything off right away...you do not build a credit history. These creditors need proof that they can trust you...and just paying cash for everything does nothing for your credit. One of the best things you can do to make a credit history never ending.....Keep a credit card with 3-500 bucks on it and make 50 dollar payments on it. Sure you pay a little more in the end but it helps. Creditors love seeing revolving credit and from what is sounds like...you have none. Creditors very rarely look at utilities and things of that nature. They look at mortgages, credit cards, car loans, student loans, and you ability to pay them back on time. Thats how you build a real good score.....you gotta spend money on credit(loans, credit cards) you get the picture.

Well, I actually pay for *everything* I can with my credit card (love those FF miles ); So I have these huge Credit card balances (depending which day of the month you check) that I pay off every month. It's kind of stupid. My ability to pay back is excellent and really, I rather not borrow for anything but the mortgage.... It's just curious how they score those things. I know a guy who's strapped to the gills and has to borrow money each year to stay afloat, yet his score is higher than mine... Go figure...

yycools and I picked up our cars from the same dealer, same day. I don't know the specifics on how he financed but the dealer was setting us up with a credit union and 3.9% for 60 months. I pay $588/month and bought at MSRP but I put very little down in comparison to him.

Some Financial questions

Plan on getting the EVO.
I have a few Financial questions to ask everybody!

1. How much did everybody put down for it?
2. What's the APR if you don't mind?
3. What insurance rates is everybody looking at?

Thanks

About 2000 (500 if you count the diff between my trade and my balance)
2. What's the APR if you don't mind?
3.98%
3. What insurance rates is everybody looking at?
This is subject to your area, but in Austin where everyone has a high priced BMW, it's $150/month, and I'm a 26 year old male homeowner.
Thanks
