Yes but the longer you stretch it the higher the intrest rate goes.

I realize that, but if you compare it to the lease factor, it really itsn't that much difference, ecpecially when you have to turn it back in once your done. Plus your insurance doesn't have to be as high, you don't have to worry about taking all your mods back off and there are no mileage penalties.

you dont have to turn in a lease in. you either have to refinace or pay it off. so by paying extra toward the pricipal on months i have it the cash it will be payed off before the lease ends. and if i have a bad month i have a small payment. I suppose it is to each there own. I am not saying it is better to lease because you are right in most cases it is not. It just so happened to work out better for me this way.

And by refinancing your residual, you usually end paying a lot more for the car then if you financed it all for one low rate in the first place. I understand the whole, bad months small payment thing, but that's why I would get the longest resonable loan I could (72 months) at the lowest rate possible, and just pay them more if I had it. Compare that to the sum of your lease payments + your residual + finance charges on the residual = a whole bunch more then the car originally cost with a decent rate in the first place

Umm yea??? It does not make sense to lease an Evo. Why?? if you want a lower payment just go 72 months or 84 months. And don't give me the excuse of tax write off, because you can do the same thing on a purchase. My monthly payament of 427 a month is lower than most of your lease payments, Plus when you guys turn in the car you will get hit with wear and tear charges like tires, brakes, and scraches.???

Good point on everyone's insurance being different.. I live in an expensive state to begin with but I have 1,000,000+ coverage-- still comes out to 150/mo. You can easily get 500/mo or so on a 30,000 car if you put 3,000 down basically. Even if the APR moves up or down a bit.
