For those who traded in their '03 Evos
if you owe anything on the car i wouldnt do it, but if you dont thats good.OH YEAH, and Dealerships use a GAWS system its totally different from KBB or anything else....best thing to do is go to different dealerships n see what they say sometimes you get cool sales people that try to help u out without screwing you too bad.
Well, I owe about 20K on it, but I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm just going to wait until the 9 comes out, and then think about a trade. I'm sure once the 9 comes out, our resale will go through the floor, so maybe I'll be sticking with the '03 for a long time to come.
I'm not looking to get bashed on or anything but it's kinda on topic. If you get an entire 05 turbo swapped in, would you need to modify/ reflash the existing ecu? If not, then I really, really don't understand why people want to trade in their cars. I mean I would imagine the same thing for the EVO nine. Once people trade it in for that, when the second or third 9 comes out, they'll probably have a new aluminum or titanium this and that. Or an even better suspension. Or hey maybe they'll have this new tight @$$ special edition nine that won't debut for another two years. But instead of reading too much into my comment, please see if you can answer my question about the ECU. Thanks, guys!
1 thing people need to consider on the 05 trade...Rev limiter & No I/c sprayer (i dont know if any1 cares,Lol)
Has anyone explored a 6 speed swap for the 03/04s? Is that possible?

I think in the 05 they finally built the tranmission right. At least in the MR, it shifts far better than my 04 RS, I had problems shifting into second the first day I bought the car, but did not care cause I already had plans to swap to the 6 speed until I found out how much the swap would be. I can shift the six speed w/ 1 finger it is so easy to get into gear, it feels like it knows exactly where to go.
AMPROWLER: pretty much the whole drivetrain has to be replaced, over $7000 in parts if new from factory.
