For those who traded in their '03 Evos

I'm thinking of trading the '03 for an '05 RS, but I'm wondering what to expect for a trade-in value. Right now I have 11,000 miles on mine. It's all stock except for a boost gauge.

How are we doing at the dealers on trade-ins?

$21k-24k trade-in.... don't bother, you'll just end up walking out all pissed off :P

if you really want a newer one, try selling yours, locally, autotrader, ebay, local mag's....

it'll be worth it IMO

Ya, if you installed a quaife LSD and an 05 turbo, it would be an 05 pretty much right? Minus the roof and side impact beams.

Your forgetting aluminum roof, revised wastegate, teflon coated clutch cable, and ACD correct?

I mentioned the roof and the impact beams. The revised wastegate is part of the turbo isn't?. I've talked to several vendors and they've confirmed that the valve timing is the same from 03-05(all trim levels) along with the engine internals as well. As far as the shifting, I've tried it out. It feels a lot better! Kinda like my Civic except not as crappy. But it's just shifting so either way it's not such a big deal imo. And the ACD, I mean you can get more than 50% power to the rear right? I don't really see the benefit unless you're driving a lot in the rain or snow or whatever.

In the end it's just my crackheaded self I guess. If I could get an 05 from my parents I would take it! But I don't think that it's worth the money for ACD. I mean the 05 MR handles at .94 G on the skid Pad and I think the 04 RS can deliver .95G(not a big deal). My point is that I haven't seen what's so great about the ACD from what I've read. I just think that if people trade in their Evo's, it should be for the Evolution Nine.

The RS too. Hey someone sell me an 05 Turbo please. I think it's a dumb idea and it's a waste of money. But I want to do it anyways.

Sorry my bad .

When something is that close you can't compare testing unless it's on the same course and same day. Fortunally for us according to Neil, Motortrend will have the 05 evo testing on their next issue (gsr vs. rs vs. MR) We can compare all the 05 models there

I love the way my 03 shifted. It was just the 2nd gear was tricky and the clutch was twice as stiff. I believe that was abcdef meant when he said shifting.
