i was thinking it would be cool to get an oem trunk lid to have without the big or little wing on it so you could switch up the look of the car. where can you get one. i know you can just get carbon but i never liked the fitment with those.

The Evo uses a standard lancer trunk, so you can get that from anywhere, including car-part.com where they usually run ~300 bucks for mint one painted in your color

I like the look of a totally wingless Evo and have looked into it myself.

Assuming you get the second trunk - how easy is it to install properly (i.e., with the lock, ensuring water tight seal, etc.)?

my suggestion is before removing first trunk, mark on the brackets alligning marks w/ paint, witeout, etc, so when you switch back, it's easier to adjust.

You can find one right here.
MN161462 : PANEL,TRUNK LID 1/LS 337.80 253.35
Nearest I can tell the regular lancer and the EVO are NOT the same. The part numbers are different. But, dimensionally speaking they measure exactly the same. They are both steel and it looks like it would bolt up OK. They are the same price so if you can get a regular lancer trunk for less and it bolts up then that is a bonus.

they arent the same anymore. remember in 04, the regular lancers got an updated trunk/bumper. the license plate mounts to the trunk now. so youd have to get an RS trunk. i dunno how much they are. i asked the dealer about it last time i was in. figured id hound them about it till they find out for me.
