Damn Cops
Of course they don't. The profile import cars as being "kid's" cars, where as a 16 year old wouldn't be driving a Ferrari. I think the problem is all the cops ever see are the dumbass kids who drive like asses and the bundle us all together. I view it more as profiling based on stereotyping.
I got stopped on X-mas day. The cops wanted to look under my hood, and I told them they didn't have probable cause for a search. After they showed me the vehicle code, which said they only need "reasonable cause" and my 4" exhaust tip, extra gauges and racing numbers were enough for reasonable cause, I decided not to fight it and let them look. The cop who took the "mods" class did the search, told me my AEM intake was legal ("some of these street racers can't afford one like this"), and let me go. My car has so much illegal stuff on it, it ain't funny.
Cops are morons.
Cops are morons.
I was pulled for taking a turn too fast (i was 5 under the slowest speed for both roads 25 off a 30 onto a 40) the cop said i took the turn at an unsafe speed and had no control because I went into the left lane. when i told him I did this so i could take a left at the next light. he started to get upset saying that i had to admit i was going too fast. I said no i was in control and under the speed limit the entire time. he started going on about how he could get me for this law and that law. I told him if he was going to he might as well get started so i could get to my lawyers office before it closed. the cop threw my licence at me and said a had better watch myself because he would be looking for me. If i had taken that corner at the same speed in a bald tired POS he wouldn't have given me a second look.
cops can be big b'tches a lot of the time. I only really respect them when they're helping solve murders/rapes/robberies/etc... to me, that's worth respecting. A cop who just gives freakin' traffic violations???? B. freakin S.
The laws have been written to allow "specialty" vehicles special privileges. The way it is written, 95db max exhaust sound, but it is also written, must not be louder than oem. It's not always the enforcers, it's the people we allow to make the rules. This is a reason to VOTE.
