Don't do that. Either get a new fender or take it to bodyshop who knows what the hell they are talking about. If you try to weld it it will warp and look like fido's a*s. Bondo it and a few miles later it will just crack again.

hey, you could always get a new one and take it to the body shop. I think that's given.

I'm just giving him an alternative solutions to his obvious solutions.

here is another thing you could think about, if you got money.

If money is a consideration then HRS fenders might not be the way to go. after you pay for them you have to get them painted then get new wider rims or spacers. sounds to me like it would be less expensive to buy one stock fender and have it painted.

being a weldor myself i can tell you welding aluminium is like trying to connect two sticks of butter together with a propane torch

hahahaha well i guess fixing the fenders is out of the question. my local dealer wanted 600+ for the fender, just ONE. the socal guys are groupbuying HRS ones for $500 a pair so i thought i should consider those painting would be another 100-200 and spacers arnt very expensive... it would come out to a little over what my dealer wants to charge me. Well so much for fixing the fender.

just buy a new fender and paint it. it wouldn't cost that much for a fender I guess.

You can get the Chargespeed widebody fenders in fiberglass for 329.99 at vividracing.com just make sure they have them in stock cause they can be a circus waiting for things to come in.

i gave those alot of thought and i just didnt like how they looked. i wanna keep the car as stock looking as i can and having the light in a different location on that fender just looked really off to me... maybe someone will sell their fenders and i'll get lucky

If you do get widebody fenders, keeping the stock rims and spacing them out won't do your handling any favors. With that setup you run the risk of getting some torque steer. I don't know if it would be enough to worry about but, it's something to think about.

In my opinion your best bet is a factory replacement. Or just live with it.

If that a$$hat told you your "fender" needs repair, run away from him and never look back.
That is your bumper cover. The leading edge of the wheel opening is BUMPER. It is polyurethane not fiberglass, unless it has already been replaced.

Thats true, take a picture from farther away so we can see where the crack is in relation to everything. Maybe it is just your bumper. Aluminum shouldn't crack like that...

Aluminum does crack. It has to because it can't stretch like steel. It more porus and less elastic.

Is it directly above the wheel or in front of the wheel?

Hood, fenders and on the MR, the roof skin also is aluminum.
