Evo Fender Material
Hey some idiot hit me in the parking lot and then drove off... they broke my drivers side fender, cracked it in 1/2.. i was just wondering if anyone knows for sure what the fenders are made of because i took it to a bodyshop in town and they guy wanted to charge me $350 just to fix it because he said it was fiberglass... but i been hearing on evom that they are aluminum.... just wondering if anyone actually knows what they really are.. thanks
well its not major damage... its about an inch and its split so one end of the split is overlapping the other end... i'm going to see how much they are going to charge me...if its over 300 i'm just going to get aftermarket ones.. since a new fender is a good $600+
uhm... don't get the fiberglass thing fixed... and if it cracked in half it most likely is fiberglass. go to socalevo.net and look for garage hrs fenders gt40 has a list of people in line to buy the carbon kevlar pieces. they're wider tho... so you might wanna roll and pull your rear fenders to match and then put some nice thick rubber on. that's assuming you're already running 9" width.

here i'll show you the crack... its not big at all and for 350 i can get a pair of chargespeed fenders... or spend 500 and get a pair of HRS ones..
i know its not big or anything, but it is a pain in the a$$ to look at everytime i get into the car

yea, i didnt think it would be that much, but then again i'm still not sure what its made of. maybe i'll just go with the HRS fenders... anyone know how big the spacer would be if its 30mm wide fenders? (about an inch) with 17x8 wheels
so it definatly is aluminum right?? well thats one bodyshop i'm never going back to hahhaha sigh... idiots. So shouldnt aluminum be easier to repair than fiberglass?
no. it's hard to weld aluminum than steel, since it melts easier.
you could line it up, bondo it and sand and paint. You could do that yourself at the garage and save on labor and have someone else spot paint it for ya.
