Stupid question about HFC

i just picked up a used Helix high flow cat, to complete my turbo back. helix dp and hfc and greddy ti. like i said the hfc is used. can or should it be cleaned in any way prior to installation? seriously

i guess you could clean the outside but i don't think there is any way to clean the inside.
