Mine didn't come on when there was ZERO oil pressure, and I spent 8k on a new replacement engine Yay for Mitsu!!! It's funny, cuz I love my car, but I HATE Mitsubishi

WTF.

Got it to the shop today... they said a rod shot thru the side of the motor and thats where the oil leaked out.

I'm thinking thats BS. I'm thinking the oil leaked out from where they fixed the leak and in result of the car being driven at 80+ mph with NO oil the rod shot out after.

Of course I found all this out AFTER I bought the car. (The CarFax report was clean when I got it)

I'll post some pics of the G35 when I get it... I'm going for a sedan to cut down on monthly insurance costs.
you know if carfax doesnt catch it and you find out yourself the car has bad history, carfax will pay for your damages.. or maybe buy the car off of you...

Ok so the shop that fixed the previous leaks says that the oil leaked from the oil feed line to the turbo causing the rod to come thru...

When I got my car back about 3 weeks ago from getting the head re-done it leaked small amount of oil.. I took it back to the shop that did that and it was coming from the oil feed line. When he initially did the head work he didnt replace the O ring on it. So he did this time to get rid of the leak.

So 3 weeks later i'm driving the car around and white smoke is coming from under the hood, I call the shop that fixed the oil leaks from the tranny/tcase/axle/oil bung **** and say i'm seeing white smoke off and on from under the hood. ( I checked the oil and it was fine ) They said this was ok because its residual oil burning off under there, and ill be fine..

That night i'm on the highway... my ****ing mom is driving the car (normally, cruising in 5th no boost) and you hear the grinding noise of a motor running with no oil. (worst sound ever) and then it just shuts off..

So the car is towed home, and now today its at that shop that just fixed these oil leaks.

The oil has to have leaked from somewhere so that the ****ing rod shot out of the block like that. They said its from the oil feed line to the turbo..

I mean... sheit.. wtf do I do? I'm not real car savy ...

do I tell the guy that did the headwork to fix the **** because the oil feed line to the turbo leaked again and all the oil went out? or what if its from the part that this other shop fixed previously and they just dont wanna say because they dont want to cover the cost.

Who the f do I trust here? who do I take advice on what to do from? sigh.

You paid the second shop to fix the oil leaks, they did not. You then called them and said that the car is smoking badly, they said don't worry about it, keep on driving. All of the oil leaks out and a rod goes through the block. It does not matter that the first guy did not fix the oil return tube correctly, you paid the second shop to correct his mistakes, evidently they did not. Call an attourney, explain everything, the shop who last looked at your car will be paying for an engine and the attourney's time.

The second shop that we paid to fix the oil leaks said this leak was NOT present at the time they looked at the car.

They can say that if they wish, but you took it in to have leaks fixed, you do not know where they originated from. You called when it was producing a large amount of smoke, they told you not to worry about it. Of course they are going to say that it was not their fault, they do not want to pay for your engine.

I would call the shop one more time to allow them the opportunity to redeam themselves...not like they deserve another chance. Let them know you are filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau, and advise them you are also contacting an attorney. Then, follow through on it. There is no reason you should bend over in any way. They obviously know they are in the wrong, and are therefore trying to cover their tracks. They were paid to correct the oil leaks, you made them aware of the presence of a potential problem with the smoke, and they advised you to keep driving it. They could have at least recommended you return so they can assure there was no new problem. Good luck.

Oh, and sorry about your ride. Those first pics of your ride looked really sad. I can't believe she beat the car like that! That's what happens when daddy buys you a new toy for your 16th birthday!

agree with joey...make sure you get a paper call log from you telephone company to verify a call was made to them after the work was done, that along with tow truck receipt and receipt for repairs you should have a really good case.

check the carfax issue, too.
