This is just a little common sense here. The EVO will come standard with no sunroof and the large wing. That will be base. Remenber, the wing is not just for looks. It will be functional unlike many cars on the road. The sunroof package will include the smaller wing. Maybe because of weight issues or something else. There is no reason to charge $2000 for a wing. If they try and do that the aftermarket companies will get all the sales selling the same wing for half the price.
I spoke to the rep today at the philly car show. he said the big wing is standard equipment and is included in base price.. he also said sunroof would be around 6 or 700, and the dealer told me to expect around 800 for sunroof.. tax, tag, title and destination should come out to around 1500.
Wish i lived in delaware...no sales tax.
just the tax here in pa is 6%, so that is $1,740 all by itself.

You are lucky
here in california it's 8.5%
and demand here is much higher
which means high markups
, not to mention higher gas prices and smog every two years
, but as long I'm drifting through the mountain roads in my LanEvo, Who cares
here in california it's 8.5%
and demand here is much higher
which means high markups

In the 2003 Lancer Evolution Dealer Pricing Guide the basic car is listed as order code LE41-B and there is a field for Suggested Retail Price (still showing price TBD).
Below that on the template are the option pricing. The options are listed as S1 Full Size Rear Spoiler with Carbon Fibre Wing (price TBD) and SR Power Sunroof (price TBD).
When we go to the "Factory Option Template" we find a field for "Base Vehicle Price" (price TBD). Below that we find the fileds for option pricing for the different templates. Option S1 is available in templates A00 and A61 (price TBD). Option S2, the Low-profile GT Spoiler is available for templates A03 and A64 (price TBD). Option SR is available for templates A64 and A61 (again, price TBD).
What this tells me is the MSRP quoted in L.A. is the "Base Vehicle Price" and does not include any of the available option groups. Now I could be wrong, but I suspect I'm not.
I can attest to the fact that the carbon wing is indeed functional as oppossed to the OZ wing, which is mostly cosmetic, as seen in the Bestmotoring video, where they inproved there lap time by adjusting the angle of the wing
And during the
intro they didn't mention the carbon wing as "available" which usually means optional
they just said it comes with it
for example when they introed the G35C they said "available" six-speed and brembo brakes which are an option package
