MSRP and options (big wing etc) answers

Hey guys, ive seen alot of these big wing/sunroof MSRP etc. threads and figured i could clear things up.......i originally posted in another thread my original thoughts on what i thought were options etc, but then it dawned on me jus to give my contact a call.......i just got off the phone with her (at Mistubishi headquarters), and i asked her about the MSRP and what are the options etc.....i was kind of bummed at the answer.....the big wing IS in fact an option, at which she was not sure of the price, but she did tell me that little wing/no sunroof is standard......id hate to see what kind of pricing that big wing is gonna push too, but well have to wait until delivery......thanks guys

If you read the spec sheet posted this morning, the big spoiler is standard and the little wing is optional.

Dealers don't know jack. I called my Mitsu dealer yesterday and they still didn't know any specs or price.

The MSRP quoted by Mitsubishi last week is obviously for the small-wing no-sunroof model. The way Mitsubishi codes its cars, the big-wing model may be the standard version, but its not the least expensive.

According to the most recent issue of Motor Trend. The big wing is an option that will run an extra $2000. I suspect that it may be bundled with other options that they force you to buy. The wing is pretty silly anyway. You might as well drive around with a sign on your car that says "I still live with my parents".

I've been looking at the Order Templates for the EVO and I have to correct what I said earlier.

I'm pretty well convinced now that the $28900 base MSRP does not include EITHER the small wing or big wing. One or the other is required, but both will be aditional cost options. Not too tough to figure out the cost of the small one but as of yesterday my district rep had nothing on the cost of the big wing.

That makes no sense. You can't have a base price for a car, then force options onto it, driving up the price. The base price of a car is the minimum amount that you can purchase a car for.

Happens all the time. Try ordering a Nissan Altima without Floor Mats and a Microfilter.

well a spoiler is kinda different from floor mats?..

EDIT : well if they do force you to get the one of the wings if the MSRP MMA said was for none than that's really...

You guys should check the Excel file that Dem1K has attached in his thread over in the general forum if you haven't already. Acccording to that, the large spoiler is standard with the only options being the small wing, sunroof and 6-disc in-dash CD player available in April.

That spec sheet reads that way because the big spoiler is Fog A00. In Mitsubishi speak that doesn't necessarily translate into standard model.

In the dealer order templates both spoiler types and the sunroof are listed as options which will have separate pricing, TBD.

Actually my mitsu dealer was trying to do that to me. They had a chrome exhaust tip installed and were trying to say the price for it was $299. Let's just say I told them to blow themselves.
