The car does not come with a head unit or in fact speakers, the speakers are a factory 'option'.

Thats what we initially though too, as it turns out the Vortex Generator will remain a 'Ralliart' optional part. Its not even an option on the factory list so its still classed as aftermarket. Maybe when CCC (AKA Mitsubishi UK) start doing their FQ range with the IX they (Mitsubishi UK) will fit it as standard.

As it is, CCC probably wont have the EVO IX officially released in the UK until September/October (they still have about 250 EVO VIII MRs to sell).

Not all that surprising about the antenna. It's not expensive to keep on the car, you don't have to deal with having two roof panel types (one with holes drilled and one without), and most people do install a radio eventually and it would be a pain to install your own antenna. The 04 STi didn't have a radio or speakers but was completely prewired.

GlobalGB any ideas on the power figures for the EVO IX, I know horsepower will still probably be rated at 280HP, but to gauge the true power of the car what is the torque numbers?

I'm loving the EVO IX even more, cuz it will probably drop the value of the EVO VIII, allowing me to finally purchase my dream car for a very good price.

finally mitsu/ralliart is offering white guages and the tach goes to 10k rpm and the speedo to 300kph. Hopefully they will offer a USDM set as well with mph on the outer ring It looks like the IX spools quicker than the 8.MR as well. All this work for a mivec head and still no sequential manual transmission..

The published BHP will be 287 again but as usual actual power output will be 305-320 hp.

RS/GT comes with the Magenesium Turbo (9.8) as opposed to the MR Turbo for the GSR (10.5) so RS/GT will spool up a little quicker and slightly more torque. (torque figures at bottom)

edited to add: RS/GT = 300.19lbt and GSR = 295.1

That instrument cluster has been around since 2001 when the VII came out. I have it in my car and it's pretty nice I actually got it at a 50% discount price since my car came with miles instruments. That really made me wonder if the cars that were sold by Ralliart Germany actually were intended for the US market? What other markets has LHD cars with miles instruments?

Is it not possible to import JDM cars from over there - or is it a LHD/RHD issue?

It looks like a GT is a GSR with an RS drivetrain, so no AYC to muck it all up and get in the way.
