I would tend to agree with you. I have been hearing around 32-33k which I think is a pretty good friggin price for 300/300 and all the goodies. Hey Mark, what part of MD are you in and are you gettin an Evo?
I don't think
screwed up at all. The Evo was expected to come to the US with 250hp because of stricter emission controls and lower octane in the US. 271hp is really close to 280hp in japan. I think
did well. Only subaru did better. STI everyone was predicting 265hp instead subaru came with a 300hp. So both companies did well...just subaru did better.

I just got back from the International Autosport show at the NEC in Birmingham, UK. I saw both cars. Cosmetically i'm sorry the Evo is much better in my opinion, it's like it had an aura around it. Might have been cause no one could touch it or get inside it. Was a shame cause i got to sit inside the new Sti and probably would have been able to give you guys a better comparison of the two. In any case i got video footage i would like to share with anyone but I don't have a way of hosting it. If it's going to be the whole video then it would be a big file but if necessary i can do some editing.
By the way the two cars I saw were the Euro spec cars. Don't flame me on anything about cars not being US spec, I know that, but i thought i d share all of this with you guys.

I also bought an oil cooler and cams, but if you keep the stock turbo you dont need to change the oil cooler.
Stroker kit and full boost on stock injectors will give 370 ft/lbs and 380 bhp approximately (my car has cams and makes 400 ft/lbs and 420 bhp, so that sounds about right).

(just kidding).Seriously, the recommended dealer price stated by the official Mitsubishi press release is US $28,997 and there is also a list of dealers here who will sell for that price; in short, I'd say yes, in exchange of $29k you can get a brand new Evo 8 by the end of next month

The point isnt whether you can make car X or Y reach 300 or 350 bhp, because chances are you can if you have enough money and know qualified people who can mod the car for you; the point is that the Evo is the best A to B (through twisties) machine you can buy. For any amount of money.
