Cusco seems to be a good choice, though honestly, I know little about their products for the most part; just what I've heard. Would be nice to import a j-spec Evo's front diff from a VII or an VIII.

Seriously, if you have a front diff, the traction in the front will be so good that you may crash if you cannot correct oversteer well. In addition to that, a front LSD costs money. I suppose that are 2 good reasons for Mitsubishi not to fit one.

Absolutely. I have added a front diff to my Evo, and it is the best improvement you can make to the car apart from changing the suspension!
I guess I should have rephrased some of that. I'm sure there's a good reason for leaving out the LSD in the front of the Evo 8, although I haven't the slightest idea.

Maybe I should have asked: Is there a huge benefit in having an LSD or ATB diff in the front to replace the open diff? That's in addition to the rear LSD and viscous center. Just trying to learn. Someone's gotta have more knowledge than I do!

How much did your front LSD cost you, installation included (unless of course, you installed it yourself)?

That's what I figured... I guess I interpreted part your previous post incorrectly.

I'm not sure if I'll end up with an Evo, STi, or neither...

While I'm thinking about it, what are some reputable tuners and/or websites worth checking out?

TIA.

Claudius is in France. I don't know if his item/labor costs would be of much use to you.
