Does our Evo have the same front diff as the VII? Or did the VII have an LSD front?

Unhappy unfortunately.....

No, it does not have the same diff as the VII. The VII had ACD (which you can learn about in the Evo FAQ).

Pay attention...he said FRONT diff, not center diff.

I don't know...but I think the VII had a LSD.

Front LSD is DEFINITELY the first thing I'll be doing to my Evo, followed by new intake and exhaust. Who knows when good ECU's will become available; will be nice though.

Doesn't the RS have an open front diff as well? Seems like our Evo was based on that model... remember the pics of the white Evo VII w/ a small spoiler at Mitsu headquarters? That model had black door handles just like the Evo VII RS does.

That's just dumb. My knowledge is limited, but how can you have a really good AWD system only an open diff in the front?

I was wondering this as I read the brochure at the Philly auto show. LSD in the rear, viscous center diff, but no info on the front unit. It would be very worthwhile to change the front to an LSD also.
