Anyone have an answer on this?

I experienced exactly the same thing today. A bunch of donuts in a snowy parking lot, and now I'm losing PS at low rpms when I hit the brakes... Also note the SEL came on. I haven't pulled the code yet.

you overheated and blew the pump from having it at full lock doing donutz. Time to buy another one.

Just reading some other posts on the subject. I figured as much. It's always acted a bit 'weak' insofar as at low RPMs it's never given full assistance and I've had to blip the throttle constantly when parking and such. I guess today pushed it over the edge..

Cheers.

I would recommend you guys read your owners manual. It has a caution against locking the steering wheel as it will break the pump.
