I have the pivot shift light... very small and easy to hide. People never even now I have it until it goes off. Then I have to point it out to them. It works great!!

I dont use the shift light for everyday driving...I only use it during racing... I have the shiftlight set right before redline that way I dont have to worry about bouncing off the rev limiter I can just pay attention to the road.

I was looking at the ProForm one but it's freaking huge! Where did you mount it?

Get the HKS type 1 Turbo timer. It has a shiftlight function...or I should say a RPM warning function and the display will change colors and beep when you hit what you set. So it works as a shift light. Fairly cheap, and has other useful functions too. More than just a light

That's not a great idea! Use the tach (that's what it's there for).
